by the way, The Compact is a campaign started in the United States by the yuppies some time late 2005.. founded by a group of 10 middle class professionals who were tired of rampant consumerism.. they woke up one day and decided to stop buying for a year.. yeap, STOP buying.. with the exception of food, toiletries and medicines..
how they go about it would be by sharing, barter trading or anything without spending any money.. and the fact is that, they have up to date, 8000 members.. and some of them have even gone further to pledge their whole lives on it because they feel that it was so fulfilling and life-altering..
like okay.. so, if all your friends are on the same pledge and you keep borrowing from each other.. what if it all finishes up? who would buy the new stuff? no new clothes even when it's tattered and torn? how far can your current resources last?
it is definitely a wake up call for us who take things for granted.. but i'm not so much into it.. there's such a thing called limitation.. and through that, we can be equally as disciplined..
on a separate note, i found a cute cabbage patch kid at work today..

isn't she cute?!

straight up from Australia..
she's so sturdy and strong for a 6 month old.. and she's teething.. her eyes are unique too.. different colours.. one's green like her dad and the other's brown like her mom's.. and it's been like that since she was born.. she'd grow to be one pretty lady..=)
